She's collaborated with some of music's biggest names, from Pharrell Williams to Snoop Lion, but will Miley Cyrus do a duet with fellow former Disney star Demi Lovato? In a recent Twitter exchange, Cyrus expressed interest in a duet, calling Lovato "the homie."

"Miley spoke to a Spanish Journalist and he asked her if she wants a duet with Demi Miley replied by "Hopefully, she's my colleague!," fan Twitter @MileyUpatesEU tweeted today, following up with a post asking Miley to "please make a duet" with Demi Lovato. Other fans responded eagerly that they would love such a collaboration.

And Miley Cyrus herself responded: "[My] exact words were 'that would be dope. she's the homie,'" confirming the news while putting her own spin on it, as she does.

Miley Cyrus most recently released the racy music video for her hit single, "We Can't Stop," which in its peak position currently #3 on Billboard's Hot 100 after five weeks on the charts, while Lovato is preparing to release a music video for her own new single, "Made in the USA," a catchy patriotic love song that has been compared to Cyrus's smash hit, "Party in the USA."

As for her new album, Cyrus has announced in a recent tweet that she will reveal the title of the highly anticipated project - her first after parting with Disney's Hollywood Records and signing to RCA - after she reaches 13 million followers on Twitter. Already several lucky fans have had the chance to hear it at exclusive listening parties, and many have praised several tracks so far.

Lovato and Cyrus were best friends back in their Disney days, frequently spotted hanging out together, but the two lost touch after Lovato entered rehab to deal with her mental health issues and addictions. Lovato left treatment in 2011, and though the two aren't as close as they used to be, they have both confirmed that they remain friends and supporters of one another.

Currently 20-year old Lovato, who turns 21 in October and plans to spend it sober while doing charity work in Kenya, is looking happy and healthy, in the middle of filming her role as a reuccuring judge on the US version of "The X-Factor," which will premiere this fall.
