A British man in a "drug-fueled psychosis" allegedly stabbed his mother 11 times before severing his own penis.

Charles Mann was sentenced Monday to 16 months in prison for the December 2013 attack at the home he shared with his mom in Sussex, England, the Mid Sussex Times reported. The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm.

Mann was allegedly high on the synthetic drug mephedrone and marijuana and was also drunk when he told his mother he loved her and began talking about a prophecy.

"This is the prophecy. I love you, but this is the prophecy," Mann said, the BBC reported.

He then stabbed his mother 11 times, striking her in the back, neck, head and puncturing one of her lungs.

With multiple stab wounds, Mann's mother, Emma, managed to escape to the bathroom where she locked herself in and called police. She said her son was "going mental downstairs with the knives," the Mid Sussex Times reported.

Mann apparently severed his manhood before police arrived at around 6:30 a.m. He was found naked and bloody and was trying to climb out of a broken window.

"I am a pedophile, I do not want to live. Take me to the light. I can see the vampires," he told police, the BBC reported.

Mann was treated at a hospital before he was mentally evaluated at a psychiatric unit.

His defense attorneys argued he has no recollection of the violent incident that can only be described as an attempted suicide, according to the BBC.

A judge agreed the man's actions were influenced by his psychosis and ordered he receive counseling upon his release.
