According to the latest reports, Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker Trent Cole may be preparing to say goodbye to the only NFL franchise he's ever called home.

Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly reported late Monday that the Eagles brass and Cole's representatives were set to meet today to discuss a possible restructuring of his deal.

Mosher followed up on that report today, revealing that it is looking increasingly likely that Cole's days as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles are drawing to a close.

"Did more digging. Told by two league sources that Trent Cole's days with the #Eagles are going to end. Team will eventually release him," Mosher tweeted late Tuesday.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan followed up a short time later, adding that sources tell him Cole will be released within the next 24 hours.

A mere half hour before, Mosher tweeted that he had begun to hear chatter that talks between the Eagles and Cole, as well as fellow outside linebacker and pending free agent, Brandon Graham, were not "progressing very well."

Graham is slated to hit the open market as one of the most sought-after pass-rushers in the NFL. He's also reportedly looking for a deal that averages $7 to $8 million per season - figures the Eagles weren't likely to touch.

Now, it seems that both players could find themselves suiting up for new NFL organizations next year.

Of course, releasing Cole and his $11 million-plus cap hit for next season could make room to keep Graham - it will free $8.425 million against the cap, per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer - but his contract demands and desire to move back to a 4-3 are likely prohibitive.

The move will cost the Eagles $3.2 million in dead money.
