Kara Zor-El, a.k.a. Supergirl, may need to keep a close eye on her colleague Winslow "Winn" Schott given his shady identity in the DC Comics.

"Smash" alum Jeremy Jordan joins the cast of "Supergirl" as Winn, the "superstar IT whiz" who works alongside Kara (Melissa Benoist) at CatCo., according to TVLine. He's also her next door neighbor.

In the DC Comics, Winn is better known as the villainous Toyman, who "uses toy-inspired gadgets to wreak havoc and commit crimes." He first appeared in Vol. 5 of the "Supergirl" comics in 2011.

The character has appeared in past Superman TV shows, including "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" and "Smallville." Sherman Helmsley played a character name Winslow P. Schott on "Louis & Clark," but was only referred to once as the "Toyman." The character appeared in three episodes of "Smallville," played by Chris Gauthier, and was most often referred to as the "Toymaker."

Jordan joins the expanding cast that includes Benoist, Calista Flockhart, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Laura Benanti, Dean Cain and Helen Slater.

The 30-year-old actor is best known for his role on "Smash" in season two. He currently stars opposite Anna Kendrick in the film "The Last 5 Years," out in limited release.
