These days Oprah Winfrey is more of a movie star than a television star. Although she gained famed on the small screen as a journalist and talk show host, Winfrey focuses on the big screen now, most recently in "Selma."

Because of this transition, the Chicago institution that is Harpo Studios, which housed Winfrey's talk show until its end in 2011 and currently shoots shows for her OWN Network, is closing.

"[Chicago has] been everything for me," she said to The Hollywood Reporter. "I've spent more hours in this building than I have any other building on Earth. ... We were here when there was nothing but hos and rats on the street, and now it's one of the hottest neighborhoods."

Harpo is becoming part of Winfrey's California-based OWN network, and the transition will affect 200 employees, according to USA Today.

"The time had come to downsize this part of the business and to move forward," Winfrey said. "It will be sad to say goodbye, but I look ahead with such a knowing that what the future holds is even more than I can see."
