With more than 820 million views, South Korean rapper PSY's music video Gangnam Style has become the most watched YouTube video of all time. The 4:13 clip surpassed a long-held YouTube record of Justin Bieber's "Baby" which has now been watched by 805,345,307 on the video-sharing site.

"Today, global sensation PSY and his wildly popular 'Gangnam Style' music video surpassed Justin Bieber's 'Baby' as the most viewed music video (and overall video) of all time on YouTube," YouTube said on its Trends blog.

While Bieber's 2010 hit has been on the site for more than two and a half years, Gangnam Style was uploaded just four months back and the rapper rocketed to fame with his now-famous horse-riding dance. The video sensation had outdone Jennifer Lopez's dance hit "On the Floor" from second place on YouTube earlier this month.

The song that refers to an upmarket neighborhood in Seoul had topped music charts in many countries including Britan and Australia and had been named-checked by many celebrities including UN chief Ban Ki-moon and U.S. President Barack Obama.

PSY, whose real name is Park Jae-Sang, has won several acclamations both from home and abroad. He was awarded one of South Korea's highest cultural honours, the Okgwan Order of Cultural Merit, earlier this month.
