One Australian skydiver survived a horrific experience after he had a seizure while free-falling from thousands of feet in the air.

A heart-racing video of the ordeal shows 22-year-old Christopher Jones suffering from an epileptic seizure at 9,000 feet after jumping from an airplane, CBS News reported.

"My arms go back and I roll onto my back and yeah basically for the next 30 seconds I'm in freefall and unconscious," Jones told the station of the incident, which reportedly happened last year but only recently went viral. Another skydiver's helmet camera captured the moment.

Sheldon McFarlane, Jones' skydiving instructor, noticed his student was in trouble and sprang into action. Remaining calm, the veteran instructor grabbed a hold of Jones and pulled his parachute cord before he reached the ground.

"I wasn't really concerned about him hitting the ground without a parachute, but I wanted to get him underneath a parachute sooner than later," McFarlane told CBS.

Jones landed safely after regaining consciousness at 3,000 feet.
