A completely blind Labrador retriever was reunited with his owner after he was lost two weeks in the frigid Alaska weather.

A man named Constantine Khrulev found the lab, Madera, when he was riding his bicycle in the woods last week with his own dog, reported Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. When he heard the 11-year-old whining in the distance he took it upon himself to help Madera find her human.

When Madera's human, Ed Davis, puts her out to go to the bathroom she usually returns herself to the house. Despite her usual routine, Madera never returned back to the house on Feb. 6.

As temperatures dropped and time passed Davis was losing hope of finding Madera alive. On top of the frigid temperatures, Madera is completely blind due to an autoimmune disease, reported News Miner.

Davis offered Khrulev a $100 reward when Madera was safely returned to him, reported the News Miner. Khrulev, an avid dog-lover himself, asked for the reward money to be donated to he Fairbanks Animal Shelter Fund. Davis obliged with Khrulev's request and ended up donating $250 to the shelter.
