Kelly Osbourne has finally made good on her threat to quit "Fashion Police," it was announced by E! and reported by CNN.

Osbourne's departure comes as no surprise, as the lavender-haired co-host has said she would quit the show going back even prior to the death of Joan Rivers.  Other reports indicated she would drop the E! show in favor of a reality show based on the original Osbourne family reality show and to focus on her new clothing line.

The E! network said the reason for the departure from "Fashion Police" is that Osbourne has chosen to "pursue other opportunities."

Last week, Giuliana Rancic made a comment related to the dreadlock-hairstyled actress Zendaya on the Oscars Red Carpet that many considered offensive.  Rancic took the heat for her mistake and apologized

Many have come to Rancic's defense, including Billy Bush of Access Hollywood, who said Osbourne's decision to quit was not good.  According to the Daily Mail, he said Rancic was railroaded into telling a joke that was written into the show and that "Kelly Osbourne threw her under the bus in my opinion."

"Fashion Police" lost its guide and anchor with the death of Rivers and it has been finding its way to keep its edge.  Osbourne threatened to quit when Rivers died.  The show brought in Kathy Griffin, but she didn't meet with Osbourne's approval, and Osbourne threatened to quit again.

In addition to working the new reality show that features her father, rocker Ozzy Osbourne, mother Sharon Osbourne and brother Jack Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne has a clothing line that needs her attention.

"We would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years during which time the show became a hit with viewers," the network said in a statement regarding Osbourne's departure.
