Netflix has ordered five new children's shows, including reboots of popular 1980s animated series "Inspector Gadget" and "Danger Mouse," USA Today reported Wednesday.

The 26-episode redo of "Gadget" "includes updated gadgets and a new computer-generated look for the inspector," according to the newspaper, which exclusively reported the news. The new series has already started airing in Europe and will make its U.S. debut on Netflix in March, according to USA Today.

"It's one of those shows where we're able to hit a few different audiences," Erik Barmack, VP of global independent content at Netflix, told USA Today. "We think that kids are going to love the show ... but it's also going to get some co-viewing because there is a generation of parents who grew up on the original."

Netflix has also acquired 26 episodes of a new take on "Danger Mouse," the British animated series.

The other three kids' shows acquired by Netflix are "Some Assembly Required," "Bottersnikes & Gumbles" and "SUPER4," according to USA Today.

The original "Inspector Gadget" series ran from 1983 to 1986 on Nickelodeon and starred Don Adams of "Get Smart" fame as the voice of the bumbling inspector. In 1993, a live-action movie spinoff starring Matthew Broderick in the titular role was released. "Danger Mouse," meanwhile, debuted in England in 1981 and made it to the States a year later on Nickelodeon; the series lasted until 1992. The rebooted "Danger Mouse" has already begun airing in England and will hit Netflix in the U.S. in the spring of 2016, USA Today reported.
