Rockstar Games has released the first official gameplay trailer of "Grand Theft Auto V," showcasing the awesomeness expected from the franchise.

The video features a voiceover talking about the new installment, saying "the game world is beautiful, massive and diverse, a sprawling satirical re-imagining of Southern California."

Gameplay footage shows areas players will be able to explore, and developers went all out to make the game feel real, including mountains and seaside, malls and urban areas in a city. Players will also be excited to see the first use of weapons in the new environments.

According to the gameplay trailer, developers paid particular attention the mechanics "to make sure every aspect of the game is as fun and fluid as it is broad".

The clip features three characters, Franklin, Trevor and Michael, as they work together to take part in a heist. Players will be able to switch vantage points between the guys in the middle of the action, giving missions "new levels of diversity and intensity," according to the trailer.

Switching of vantage points will not be limited to mission, as the trailer shows you can drop into any of the three main characters' lives and participate in "a vast array of things to see and do".

Like all "Grand Theft Auto" franchises, players can expect the ability to operate a variety of vehicles. The gameplay trailer also showcases various sports in the game you will be able to play like golf, tennis, cycling and big game hunting.

Last January, Rockstar announced the release delay of "Grand Theft Auto V" from spring 2013 to Sept. 17 worldwide on Xbox 360 and PS3.

"The only reason we've delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be," Rockstar said, according to CVG.
