A Sweedish woman is claiming that her 29-year-old pet is the world's oldest living cat.

"I read an article about another cat that was supposed to be the world's oldest, and I just thought to myself: 'mine is older!'" Asa Wickberg told the Telegraph of her cat, Missan.

According to Guinness World Records the oldest living cat in the world is 26-year-old Tiffany Two. She was named the oldest earlier this month on Feb. 6.

Tiffany Two replaced Poppy the cat, 24, who previously held the title. Poppy, a British feline, died in June 2014, reported UPI.

Wickberg alleges that Missan is turning 30 this year, which would actually make her the oldest living cat.

The title will only be transferred to Missan if her age can be proven, reported Telegraph.

Missan, who is a brown moggy, was adopted by Wickberg as a kitten in 1985.

"She's a bit of a loner, and has always been a bit shy and a little cautious," Wickberg told Telegraph of her cat. "But she likes dogs. She takes to them very quickly."
