Loyal Miley Cyrus fans have filed a petition to the White House requesting that the singer's single, "Party in the USA," be made the country's national anthem.

Talk about wishful thinking! We've heard of fans going crazy about their favorite stars but singer Miley Cyrus has fans that seem to be a more ambitious lot. Fans of the former Disney star have filed a petition to the White House asking the administration to make the singer's single, "Party in the USA," the country's national anthem.

"Obama please make Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA our national anthem. It is what is best for this country," reads a message along with the petition posted online on "We The People."

Fans hoping to replace The Star-Spangled Banner with Cyrus' infectious anthem still have a long way to go. A petition requires at least 10,000 signatures to be considered by the government and this still doesn't guarantee the government will pass it. So far, this petition has only received 316 signatures.

This is not the first time fans have put forward such a bizarre request. A petition with 6,292 signatures demanding NASA construct a Star Trek-style inspired USS Enterprise interplanetary spaceship has also been submitted in the past.

Recently, the government rejected a petition with over 30,000 signatures from Star Wars fans demanding the government begin construction of a Death Star by 2016.
