"Parks & Recreation" co-executive producer and writer Harris Wittels was found dead Thursday morning (Feb. 19) at his Los Angeles home. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wittels' body was discovered by an assistant, and it's believed that an overdose contributed to his death.

A rep for the LAPD told The Hollywood Reporter that police responded to a 911 call Thursday afternoon about a possible overdose. Wittels was 30 years old.

Shortly after news broke, Billy Eichner, who plays Craig Middlebrooks on "Parks," tweeted: "Don't know what to say. Harris Wittels was a fantastic writer I had the pleasure to work with at Parks and Rec."

"Such heartbreaking news about Harris Wittels. A really funny guy," Seth Meyers, host of "Late Night," wrote on Twitter.

"He was my baby. I just keep thinking of superman flying backwards around the earth. I wish I could do that. I'm so mad at you Harris," comedian Sarah Silverman tweeted. "You should know that Harris was brilliant beyond comparison. That his imagination was without limit. That he loved comedy more than anything. That his heart was big and he FELT hard. That he was someone who would reach out to tell you he was thinking of you for no particular reason. That he was honest even if it was gonna piss u off or make him look shitty. He told the truth. Even when it was ugly. Even he lied."

According to THR, Wittels had a small role on "Parks" and was also a writer for "The Suits" and "The Sarah Silverman Program." The 30-year-old was also into music and played the drums for the band Don't Stop or We'll Die.

"Parks & Recreation" will air its seventh and final episode Feb. 24.
