Anna Faris and her husband, Chris Pratt, welcomed their first child two years ago, but when Faris gave birth nearly two months early, the couple was understandably frightened.

Faris delivered her son, Jack, at nine weeks premature in August 2012. She revealed to Redbook magazine in the new March issue that doctors were able to "halt active labor with magnesium" when her water broke at seven months, but little Jack came a week later.

"I was at the hospital and the goal was to be in bed for four weeks... but on the seventh day, I went into labor again. I was in denial. For hours I was like, 'I'm just having indigestion.'" Faris told Redbook. "Chris and I were so scared, but when Jack came out, even though he was so tiny, he looked so good to us."

Doctors told the new parents that their child could have special needs due to his early arrival. Faris told GQ magazine in December that she and Pratt "felt like it was devastating," but soon realized they were fortunate enough for Jack to be alive and could take care of him no matter what.

A month after the birth, Faris and Pratt were able to take home their baby boy. He would only need to wear glasses and later need cosmetic surgery to correct his eyes. The entire experience also brought the couple closer together as husband and wife.

"It's one of those things that drives you apart or makes you closer. I think that being a father is very meaningful and rewarding to Chris. He's a great dad. He's a little more serious than he was before. It forces your hand. You really have to become an adult," Faris told Redbook.

As for motherhood, the "Mom" star calls it "a big sleeping bag of guilt."
