Kerry Washington is a married woman! The "Scandal" actress married San Francisco 49ners cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, E! Online reports. The news was first broke by sports gossip website TerezOwens.com who said the two have been dating since last summer. The 36-year-old actress has been married for at least a week as E! Online reports that she and Asomugha tied-the-knot on June 24 in Blaine County, Idaho.

Not much is known about the couple since they seem to have been able to escape the limelight, but Asomugha was drafted by the 49ners in April. Before that he played with the Oakland Raiders, who drafted him right out of college in 2003, and the Philadelphia Eagles. He also has appeared in a couple TV spots including "The Game," "Friday Night Lights" and "Leverage."

Both Washington and her new-hubby are philanthropists and activists with Asomugha participating in the Clinton Global Initiative every year since 2009, E! reports. This is the first marriage for the 36-year-old actress who broke up with her fiancé David Moscow in 2007 after several years of dating.

Washington's acting career jumped significantly after landing the lead role in the hit ABC show "Scandal." She plays Olivia Pope, a "fixer" for the rich and famous who gets into a complicated and tricky relationship with the President of the United States.

E! was able to get a copy of Washington's marriage certificate and reports that the small, secret wedding was attended by a small group of family members and friends. Her parents, Earl and Valerie, signed the certificate as witness to the nuptials and the ceremony was officiated by minister Chisaraukwu Asomugha. There has been no mention on Twitter from Washington, but congratulations to the newlyweds.
