It's been more than ten years after the second episode of "Half Life 2" was released, and there really hasn't been a true whisper about about the inevitable follow-up in all that time. It's funny because I was just speaking to one of copy editors here at HNGN about the possibility of "Half Life 3" the other day and I said, "I would kill or die for that game." The funny part is of course that this short film, "Half Life 3: Unannounced" shows almost the exact opposite of that sentiment. It encapsulates what almost all fans of this series are feeling (except for me it seems): a general sense of malaise.

So, what we are seeing here is what has happens to good ol' Gordon Freeman as he too has been waiting to get back into some "Half Life" action; he has become bored, fat and lazy. Maybe the same could be said for the developers at Valve? Maybe not? I mean, they could be slaving away right now on the game and no one would be the wiser.

"Half Life 3: Unannounced" was put together by Fence Post Productions, a team out of New Zealand, and it is very well done...in a sad, melancholy way. Thanks to VG 24/7 for the tip.
