Disney has yet to announce an official "Frozen 2" movie, but it will premiere a short film, "Frozen Fever," next month.

Queen Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel), Princess Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and Olaf the snowman (Josh Gad) all return in the Disney short to celebrate Anna's birthday at the palace.

"The gang is back together. And literally it's like we never went away," Gad told USA Today. "Every day we're reminded of 'Frozen' in our lives. So it feels like a continuation of a saga that has many parts still untold. It felt like coming home again after a short absence."

The short film presents a more cheerful Elsa, unseen in the 2013 movie, who's no longer afraid to hide her magical powers. Unfortunately, she falls ill with a cold on Anna's big day and her powers go a bit haywire.

"Elsa doesn't get a cold in the usual way," Jennifer Lee, who returned to co-direct with Chris Buck, told USA Today.

"Frozen Fever" also features a new original song from husband-and-wife songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who penned the Oscar-winning tune "Let It Go." The new song will likely catch on just as quickly as the original, according to Gad.

"If history is any indicator, kids will go nuts," he said.

In one of the castle's hallways hangs a new family portrait that includes all of the characters plus Kristoff's reindeer, Sven. The photo was inspired by the website AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com, according to USA Today.

"There's a slight dorkiness to the painting," Lee said. "But it's the best thing they could all wish for, just that ordinary family feeling."

"Frozen Fever" will show before the live-action movie "Cinderella," which opens on March 13.
