John Kerry has played a lot of roles throughout his life - a soldier, an attorney, a lawmaker, a one-time Democratic presidential candidate, and currently the head of the U.S. State Department. But all of those titles still don't protect him from being fined when he fails to shovel the snow from the sidewalk in front of his Boston home.

After a massive Northeast blizzard dumped two feet of snow in Boston earlier this week, Kerry neglected to shovel snow off the sidewalk of his Boston residence, according to a complaint on Boston's Citizens Connect website.

And since Boston Mayor Martin Walsh had vowed to crack down on anyone who left the sidewalks in front of their homes and businesses buried in snow, Kerry received a fine of $50 on Thursday, the Associated Press reported.

But to be fair, Kerry was in Saudi Arabia attending the funeral of deceased Saudi King Abdullah with President Obama when the raging blizzard struck his city.

Immediately after returning back to the U.S. on Tuesday, he traveled to Virginia to attend Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel's farewell ceremony.

Even though Kerry's neighborhood association hires a contractor to shovel after a snowstorm, the contractor apparently failed to shovel one of Kerry's sidewalks because someone had partially strung a yellow hazard tape to warn pedestrians about snow and ice falling from the roof of the Beacon Hill mansion.

The company mistook the hazard tape for police tape and thought that part of the sidewalk was off limits.

"Diplomats -- they're just like us," responded Kerry spokesman Glen Johnson to ABC News, adding that Kerry will promptly and "gladly pay" the fine.

On Thursday morning, a snow removal company finished clearing the sidewalk in front of Kerry's home, The Boston Globe reported.

Meanwhile, Boston is forecasted to experience even more snowfall this weekend.
