Two skii resorts say University of Michigan sororities and fraternities caused over $100,000 in damages by vandalizing dozens of rooms two weeks ago, USA Today reported.

The students will be responsible for the loss of income for the units while they're closed for repairs after the incident. Everything will also be reported to the Michigan State Police for them to possibly take legal action.

Six fraternities and sororities have had their activities suspended by national representatives and are currently being investigated.

Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Sigma Delta Tau sorority,  Alpha Phi sorority, Delta Gamma sorority, Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity and the Chi Psi fraternity have been accused of causing the damage to the Treetops Resort and condominiums in Harbor Springs.

"This gives the university time to sort out additional details that are necessary before placing additional sanctions on the organizations or individuals involved," the university said in a statement. "The executive boards of the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association on the Ann Arbor campus have initiated their own reviews of this situation that could lead to sanctions against the fraternity and sorority chapters."

Resort officials said a maximum of 120 students resided in townhouse and cottage units and caused varying amounts of damage, including holes in the wall, broken furniture and stains on the floor, Detroit Free Press reported.
