Digital security is a major issue in this day and age. It's common for celebrities to be targeted by hackers, but average people are at risk as well. A family from Houston, Texas figured this out the hard way on Monday.

Ashley Stanley, a nanny, was changing the diaper of 1-year-old girl in her care when she heard a man's voice coming from the baby monitor, reported KPRC-TV. What alarmed her most was that the man clearly had video access because he was talking about what was happening in the room.

"They kept telling me that it's a cute baby and, 'Wow, that is a poopy diaper," Stanley added.

It is still not known if the camera was accidentally allowing outside access or the man hacked the device.

The man told the nanny he recommends the family put a password on the video monitor.

"I was kinda really freaked out like maybe someone hacked into the camera, he said something else like, 'You should probably password protect your camera," Stanley said in an interview with KHOU-TV.

The child's parents have access to the video monitor via an app on their smartphones, so at first Stanley thought they were playing a trick on her before she realized it was an outsider.

The nanny told KPRC-TV that she was so freaked by the incident that she has not plugged the monitor back in since.
