The #Blizzardof2015 brought more than just a winter storm for a Boston suburb. It let "Yeti" step out of the myth and onto the snowy streets of Massachusetts on Monday evening.

A person wearing a costume of the mythical creature was photographed roaming the desolate streets of Somerville, Mass., leaving a trail of footprints in the drifting snow, USA Today reported. However the origins of the Yeti, also known as the abominable snowman, remain a mystery.

As snow fell on the northeast, the Boston Yeti debuted on Twitter - @BostonYeti2015 - to live tweet the ordeal of hailing a taxi and encouraged "everyone to be safe."

Trying to "hail cab on McGrath Highway" in Somerville, a Boston suburb, the costumed creature tweeted at 10:15 p.m., after a travel ban went into effect as the blizzard led to closure of roadways overnight on Monday into Tuesday, New York Daily News reported.

The mythological creature's account also joked that "multiple #BostonYeti2014 sightings" had forced schools to close. While the white fur clad yeti easily blended into the snowy surroundings and felt comfortable in the freezing temperatures, it wanted to reiterate that "others with less body hair, should be careful in the snow. #YetiSafety"

Throughout the night, snowed-in Twitter users entertained themselves by coming up with creative suggestions on how the yeti should spend its time roaming the streets, including food delivery services.

Now, many are hoping the creature, which is believed to roam the Himalaya Mountains along the border between Nepal and Tibet, will make some unique sightings on Tuesday as well.

Meanwhile, even though little is known about the Boston Yeti, the person behind the costume told ABC News it "was raised and educated by the woods."
