Fox’s Fall Line-up Has Favorites Share Time With New Shows

Fox has revealed its line-up for the 2013-2014 fall TV season, which kicks off on September 11. Popular shows like "Glee", "Bones" and "New Girl" will be all set for their comebacks, along with some new options for viewers to tune into.

Some of the new shows that will be debuting this fall on Fox include: "Almost Human", a police drama by JJ Abrams; "MasterChef Juniors" featuring Gordon Ramsay; "Dads" which has Seth MacFarlane as one of the executive producers; "Sleepy Hollow", a contemporized version of the 1820's tale; "Us & Them", a sitcom about a young couple and their troublesome near-and-dear ones; "Surviving Jack", a sitcom based on the book "I Suck At Girls"; "Rake" starring Greg Kinnear; and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", an ensemble comedy about a talented but carefree detective who gets a new boss.

The returning shows promise their share of entertainment in their new seasons. In the premiere of season 9 of "Bones", Dr Temperance Brennan will deal with Special Agent Sealey Booth's apparent rejection of her marriage proposal. In "New Girl", Jess and Nick will embark on a romance that is anything but traditional. In "Glee", the storylines of Rachel and Kurt in New York will continue alongside those at McKinley High. "X Factor" will have Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio as part of the jury in its third season, along with Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato.

"Fox may have had a down year last season, but the network knows how to bounce back. Its schedule is a solid combination of old vets helping out new shows and an interesting flow to releasing new projects," said TV.com in its review of the fall line-up announcement.

"While the network's boosted order of new series includes five comedies and five dramas, it's the half-hours that are getting some of the most interesting placement," said an analysis on The Hollywood Reporter.

Not much is known at this time on the "American Idol" front, except that Ryan Seacrest is definitely back as host for the thirteenth season of the show come January 2014. Two event series are also reportedly lined up for next year: "24: Live Another Day" and "Wayward Pines".
