Mark Ruffalo is the man of the hour.

The 47-year-old actor won for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie for his role as Ned Weeks in HBO's "The Normal Heart," at 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday, but the actor wasn't in the building to accept his award because he had to work early Monday morning.

Still, a grateful Ruffalo took to Instagram to share a bedroom selfie after his wife and kids delivered the good news, writing, "Upon waking and hearing from my wife and kids that I won a @sagawards for #TheNormalHeart Love wins tonight!"

Ruffalo was nominated alongside actors Adrien Brody for his role in "Houdini," Benedict Cumberbatch in "Sherlock: His Last Vow," Richard Jenkins in "Olive Kitteridge" and Billy Bob Thornton in "Fargo."

Shorty after being presented with the award, Ruffalo took to Twitter to give his acceptance speech, writing, "Ha ha ha! Sunny and my kids just woke me up to tell me I won a SAG award Have to be at work in 4 hours. Thank you! @SAGawards.

"Thank you PR team! Jessica Kolstad, Nicole Caruso, Alexandra Kahn and Grace Yi!" he continued. "Thank you @ryanmurphy24 for giving me the incredible part! Thank you Larry Kramer teaching is all a little more about love. Thanks @MattBomer my dear friend and partner in #TheNormalHeart you were an inspiration and friend every day. To all the people who lived through the AIDS crisis and lost the ones you loved. This award is yours. @SAGawards You are heros."

After thanking the cast of "The Normal Heart," director Ryan Murphy, the actor continued to show is appreciation to his fans and supporters:

"Special thank you to all my brother and sister actors for this incredible distinction - it's really the one that matters. @SAGAwards, Last but not least. Thanks to all you folks who have supported the movie and me all these years. Good night. Again. A very special thanks to the love of my life, my pal, and my partner Sunrise Ruffalo. Ruffalo was also nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role category for his role Dave Schultz in "Foxcatcher," but the award was given to J.K. Simmons, who played Terence Fletcher in "Whiplash."
