Steve Wozniak says he's no music expert, but the Apple founder will talk music and technology at Saturday morning's opening breakfast session for the National Association of Music Merchants annual trade show in Anaheim.

Wozniak, who started Apple in 1976 with Steve Jobs, is expected to discuss the impact of technology on the music industry and will share stories.

New technology has enabled the creation of new kinds of instruments and sounds and different ways of making music, he told The Los Angeles Times.

For example, he said cloud technology has made it easier for musicians to work together over the internet and distribute their tracks.

Wozniak also said computer technology has opened up a new world for musicians through which they can experiment with sounds and new tools.

Technology has lowered the barrier to entry for many people who may not be very proficient on guitar but still want their songs heard.

"It's creativity," he said. "People are thinking in new ways and not just repeating what they've learned from books," he told the Times.

The NAMM Show is the largest music products-based convention. Last year, more than 96,129 people registered for the event and 1,500 companies participated at the Anaheim Convention Center.
