New footage for upcoming Pokemon fighting game "Pokken Tournament" has surfaced showing off a battle between Pikachu and Lucario. Who wins? Watch till the end to find out.

A second video, down below, shows a match between Pikachu and Gardevoir.

"Pokken Tournament" was announced last summer. It is in development at "Tekken" studio Bandai Namco in collaboration with The Pokemon Company, the group that oversees the entire brand.

"Whether you are a causal player, a regular player, or a hardcore player, anyone who likes Pokemon can have fun," veteran Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada said during the announcement event.

"Pokken Tournament" will be released in 2015 for Japanese arcades. Interestingly, the arcade release of the game won't use a traditional arcade stick; instead, cabinets will feature a gamepad with a cross pad, two shoulder buttons and four face buttons...that mimic the button layout of Nintendo controllers. Here's what it looks like currently, though Harada said it's subject to change:

There is no word yet on the possibility of a release for Western markets or on consoles...which one would think is a no brainer because I've been saying for YEARS that Nintendo should develop Pokemon games in other genres (i.e. fighting, action, etc.). I mean, it just seems like an untapped goldmine.

Regardless, I'll eat my hat if this game doesn't come to the US and/or consoles. Thanks to Polygon for the tip.
