Kris Jenner went on "The View" and declared that she is all for the name North West, E! Online reports. Less than a minute into the interview the soon-to-be talk show host was asked about her daughter Kim Kardashian and Kanye West choosing the name North for their little girl.

"There's been a lot of controversy," Barbara Walters said. "I mean, it's funny, but do you really want your child named North West, and would you have preferred it have been with a K?"

"Or Pan-Am?" Joy Behar joked.

The matriarch of the Kardashian clan smiled and said she absolutely loves the name.

"I love the name North. I'm pro-North," Jenner said. "The way she [Kim] explained it to me was that North means highest power and she said that North is their highest point together."

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have dealt with a lot of criticism about their daughter's name. According to TMZ a source said the couple picked the name because they wanted something to symbolize their relationship. The source said the reality star told everyone they look at the name as a metaphor for "up" telling family and friends "What's North of North? Nothing."

TMZ also reports that the baby's nickname will be "Nori" and the little girl was not given a middle name. in March, Kardashian sat down with Jay Leno and denied rumors that the name of her daughter was going to be North. Laughing, she said there were so many rumors about the baby's name but "that is not one of the names on the list." She did say that she liked the name Easton, which was similar to North.
