Shia LaBeouf's lack of hygiene during the music video for Sia's "Elastic Heart" had his dance partner, Maddie Ziegler, grabbing for extra wet wipes.

The video required both to cover themselves in dirt, but Ziegler still tried to keep a semblance of cleanliness unlike her co-star. His filthy hands proved the biggest problem for the "Dance Moms" star because she had to bite down on them during filming.

"I really did bite Shia, and it was gross because we were dirty and I had to bite his dirty hands," Ziegler told Entertainment Tonight. "I kept wiping myself off and I kept handing the wipes to Shia and he was like, 'I don't need the wipes,' and I was like, 'Yes, you do.' I brought perfume and everything. I didn't want to smell and he was like, 'Oh, I'm totally fine with it. I don't care."

The 12-year-old dancer eventually wore him down.

"He actually listened to me," Ziegler said. "I was like, 'I'm sorry, but you're kind of dirty.'"

The "Elastic Heart" video received criticism from some who thought LaBeouf expressed a pedophile nature toward Ziegler. Sia anticipated the "pedophilia cries," but explained on Twitter that the video showed the "two warring" state of herself.

"I apologize to those who feel triggered by #Elastic Heart My intention was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody," she tweeted on Jan. 7.

Ziegler admits she had never danced with a "much older" male partner, but described their routine as more a choreographed fight than a dance. The fight portrayed in the video isn't between two people, though.

"I'm supposed to be portraying a werewolf and pretty much Shia and I have been just living in the cage for a year and I'm the strong one and I'm trying to pretty much kill him," she told Entertainment Tonight.
