New Mexico basketball guard Hugh Greenwood had a huge game Wednesday night against UNLV. After his team's win, Greenwood blasted a troll on Twitter who mocked his cancer-stricken mother.

Greenwood, a senior, played a big role in New Mexico's 71-69 win against UNLV, tallying 22 points - including six three-pointers and his first dunk since freshman year - and eight rebounds. Afterwards, the Australia native called out the Twitter troll and credited the troll's hateful tweets for his big-time performance Wednesday night.

Transcript (via Syracuse.com):

"Actually, it was a man on Twitter. I'm not going to shout him out; he doesn't deserve to. Talking about my mom battling second [stage] breast cancer, he was making cancer jokes all afternoon, talking about bringing my mom to the game in a hearse. There's a line, and it gets crossed, and I was mad about it tonight. Got my first dunk since my freshman year, and I credit it to him tonight because that's what motivated me."

His postgame interview apparently struck a chord with a number of people, many of whom Greenwood said reached out to him on the Internet to offer their support.

"I can't even begin 2 thank everyone directly 4 your kind words over social media," Greenwood tweeted Thursday. "There have been endless amounts! All I can is (thank you)!"

Greenwood told KRQE Albuquerque in October his mother's breast cancer, which had been in remission for four years, returned last summer and had spread to her lungs. He said he decided to grow out his hair in an effort to raise awareness and money for breast cancer.

He also created his own fundraiser, Pink Pack, which you can visit HERE.
