Model Paulina Gretzky gave birth to a healthy boy on Monday, Jan. 19 at a Los Angeles hospital. This is the first child for the 26-year-old and her pro golfer fiancé Dustin Johnson.

"Paulina and I are happy to announce the arrival of our baby boy, who was born in Los Angeles on Monday morning," Johnson said. "Both Paulina and the baby are healthy, resting comfortably and in great spirits."

The couple has not revealed the baby's name and promised that more details would be released soon.

"We sincerely appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received and plan to release further details in the coming days," he told E! News.

Gretzky, the daughter of NHL great Wayne Gretzky, and Johnson got engaged in August 2013 and announced their pregnancy in September of last year. Before revealing the exciting baby news, Johnson announced that he was taking a six-month leave of absence from the PGA Tour for "personal issues," People magazine reports.

"By committing the time and resources necessary to improve my mental health, physical well-being and emotional foundation, I am confident that I will be better equipped to fulfill my potential and become a consistent champion," he said in a statement at the time. "I respectfully ask my fans, well-wishers and the media for privacy as I embark upon the mission of self-improvement."

During the holidays it seems like Johnson was doing a lot better. He told Golf.com during an interview that he needed the time away to "simplify things."

"That's what I've been working on, really simplifying everything," Johnson said. "And her being pregnant makes it that much more easy to simplify things."
