You can count Rosie Perez out. According to the latest rumors, the 50-year-old actress is walking away from "The View" after four months of being a co-host. Perez took the month of January off to do the Broadway play "Fish in the Dark," and was expected to return in February.

However, sources told Variety that she reportedly won't come back to the show after the Broadway gig is up and ABC is expected to make an announcement soon. The network is also said to be eyeing "other young co-hosts" to take her place on the panel, Variety reports.

"The choice of Perez was a surprise given the other contenders that were in the mix last year," the site wrote. "But Perez never got a hang of the show's mixture of hard and soft news, and she had trouble reading from a TelePrompTer, insiders say."

Variety also reports that there will be other changes within the show, both in front of and behind the camera. Perez has not commented on the rumor but a rep issued a statement assuring fans that the actress was not leaving.

"Her status with the show has not changed," ABC said.

Rosie O'Donnell also squashed the rumor during Thursday's show, saying, "No matter what you read anywhere, Rosie Perez... is coming back after she is done rehearsing her play, the new Larry David play ['Fish in the Dark'] that she is starring in."

"It opens soon, and then she will be back here at her job, regardless of what you hear in other shows, or read in magazine as I did last night at 11:40 and went, 'What the f**k?!'" she continued.

There are also rumors that ABC executives are considering cancelling the show after its current 18th Season.
