There was a hearing scheduled for Thursday to determine the final outcome of the grievance between suspended NFL running back Ray Rice and his former team, the Baltimore Ravens.

The grievance, filed by Rice, pertained to whether or not the team still owed him the $3.5 million salary he was due prior to their cutting him shortly after a second incriminating video surfaced showing Rice knocking his then fiancée, now wife, Janay Rice, unconscious in a casino elevator in Atlantic City.

It seems that the hearing will be unnecessary, as a league source has told Mike Florio of NBC Sports that the grievance had already been settled days ago.

"The term "settled" implies money changed hands.  Chances are that the amount will not be disclosed publicly, which is common when money changes hands to put to rest a legal claim," Florio writes.

With the grievance settled and Rice getting what money he could out of the Ravens, it seems that the relationship between the two sides has effectively ended.

Rice was reinstated by the league in late November and has since been free to sign with any team. He has yet to find an NFL franchise willing to take the public relations hit that will no doubt come with brining him onboard though, and remains an available commodity.
