Police still don't have a motive behind the death of 18-year-old rapper Lil Snupe but according to KNOE TV station, the police do have a suspect in mind but are not releasing a name. According to the station, Lil Snupe was shot twice in the chest, his body was found at the Maplewood Apartment complex in Louisiana. The young rapper was in town to perform at a concert this weekend.

Lil Snupe's family spoke to the Louisiana station telling them how much the rapper loved music.

"I really loved my brother man. It shocked me this morning when my momma came and told me," his 14-year-old brother Sedarian Joe said. "I really couldn't believe it at first, it just hurt my heart real bad whenever she told me. For his momma I really feel bad for her because can't nobody feel the pain like she can."

Lil Snupe, whose real name was Addarren Ross, was mentored by DJ Star who told the station that he was definitely a rising star in the rap industry.

"He was really on his way up, big time and doing a lot more for the state of Louisiana that people probably didn't understand on the music level," he said.

Ross was also a protégé of rapper Meek Mills. According to MTV, Lil Snupe slipped Meek Mills his cd while the "House Party" rapper was in town for a concert. Within 20 minutes he received a call and the label wanted to sign him.

"He was spittin so much pain, he's from the south with a flow like an east coast guy," Meek told MTV at the time. "Like with that bounce flow, all over the place, he really can spit, and he was talking that talk that like I can really relate to. I see potential in him."

A lot of people saw potential in the 18-year-old. Fans were shocked when they heard the news of his death and immediately took to the social media site to express their condolences and grief.

The first person to confirm the news was his manager, Leem7st, who tweeted the news to his followers. At the time Meek had not said anything on Twitter about the death of his protégé but earlier sent out a slew of tweets about how sad he was over the news also adding that he was desperately trying to get him out the streets.
