Reports of an arrest warrant being issued for New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez are being refuted by a court clerk, USA Today Sports reports.

An arrest warrant was said to have been issued for Hernandez for allegedly obstructing justice. A clerk in the Attleboro District Court told USA Today Sports there is no record of an arrest warrant being issued for Hernandez or anyone else in the case.

ABC News reported on Friday that an arrest warrant had been drawn up for Hernandez on charges of obstruction of justice. Hernandez reportedly intentionally destroyed his home's security system, which included video surveillance. He also handed over a cell phone, which was in pieces and appeared to have been smashed.

Police are investigating the Patriots player for his link to Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old semi-professional football player who was found dead Monday evening with a gunshot in the back of his head.

Lloyd was reportedly dating the aunt of Hernandez's child.

The Boston Globe, via USA Today Sports, reported police have surveillance videos that show Hernandez with Lloyd early Monday morning, the day Lloyd was found dead. The Globe also reported a police source who said Lloyd was killed where his body was found, in an industrial park about a mile from Hernandez's North Attleborough, Mass., home.

Hernandez is also being sued by a former friend who alleges the NFL star shot him in the face after an argument in February. Hernandez's name was never mentioned in the police report.

The Patriots drafted Hernandez in 2010, despite some NFL scouting reports casting doubt on his character. He's excelled in New England, earning one Pro Bowl trip and teaming with fellow tight end Rob Gronkowski to make one of the most productive tight end combos ever. New England signed Hernandez last summer to a five-year, $40 million deal.

As of now, USA Today Sports is the only outlet refuting the arrest warrant being issued.  ABC's report from this morning is below:
