Apple Inc. won a lawsuit filed against Samsung Electronics Co. in Tokyo Friday, on its infringement of  Apple's "bounce-back" patent used in earlier models of Samsung smartphones.

The Samsung and Apple feud has been going on for a long time with several lawsuits filed over patent disputes in 10 countries. The patent war between the world's two biggest smartphone makers has seen both the companies scoring victories in different countries after Apple accused Samsung of copying its devices. The latest win for Apple over its "bounce-back" feature, which is displayed at the end of e-mails and documents on phones and tablets, was ruled on by the Tokyo court, Friday, June 21, according to Reuters.

However, Samsung has changed the screen effects on its latest series of smartphones, which display a blue line at the end of screen. In April, the U.S. Patent and Trademark office ruled Apple's patent claims as invalid. The sales of Samsung smartphones and tablets with the similar "bounce-back" feature were not interrupted in the U.S.

The Tokyo court will be releasing more details on the case along with the compensation amount that Samsung will have to pay Apple.

Samsung spokesperson Nam Ki-yung told Bloomberg in a statement that the company will assess the case before considering an appeal.

Samsung smartphone and tablet sales have increased by 4 percent in Japan during the first quarter of 2013, says market research firm IDC. It sold 6.81 million units in its first quarter, but did not rank among the top five contenders for sales in Japan. Apple, on the other hand, gained dominance for the sixth quarter in a row with 39.6 market share in the first three months of 2013.
