It took Mel B quite a while to respond to allegations that her husband had abused her. And in the vacuum caused by her silence, rumors ran rampant about exactly what had happened between her and her husband, Stephen Belafonte.

Last month, Mel B and Belafonte made headlines after it was alleged that he abused her and that their marriage was on the rocks. Belafonte quickly came forward to deny the allegations, madamenoire.com reported. 

"Who accused me of it; did she accuse me of it, the police, the hospital, who accused me of it? I thought when you beat someone up the police or the hospital or the person you beat up says it," he said. 

The singer and judge on "The X-Factor," on the other hand, took her time addressing the rumors. The silence stretched out, and she eventually spoke up.

"This is for my fans havin' problems with my Twitter will be back soon!" she wrote on Instagram. "I'm very good was very polly but much better now and for the record my hubby never would lay a hand on me sorry took so long but any response fuels rumors #lovemyfamily #lovemyfans."

To seal the deal, the former Spice Girl recently took to Twitter and posted a selfie of her and her hubby with the caption: "Driving round LA with my baby @Stephenthinks1 happy Sunday fun day everyone."
