Are Katy Perry and John Mayer's rekindling their romance?

People Magazine reported that the former couple were spotted having dinner at a friend's in Beverly Hills, Calif. The pair reportedly turned up for dinner in separate cars and were not willing to be seen together, but added that Mayer spent the night at Perry's home.

"The two seemed pretty mellow, relaxed and super friendly with each other," a source told E! News.

So does this mean that their on-and-off relationship is back on?

People Magazine reported that that the two "actually buried the hatchet a while back, and they are friends," but the two do not have plans to rekindle their romance. It's the first time the former couple had been spotted together publicly since their breakup in February.

"They're two very strong-willed people," a source told People Magazine at the time. "Despite caring about each other very much and wanting to make it work, they are, at their core, quite different."

The source added, "It's not a surprise they would see each other socially. She's focused on her career and making herself happy."

Perry, who was recently linked to DJ and producer Diplo and married to comedian Russell Brand, opened up about her failed relationships in the October 2014 issue of Harper's Bazaar Magazine.

"What I've learned is that if you don't have the foundation of self-love first, you really have nowhere to pull love from to give it away," Perry told the magazine. "I had to learn about taking care of myself before I could take care of others. I want to mommy everyone. I want to take care of them. I want to save them, and I forget myself in the meantime. I learned that through therapy."
