Girl Scout cookie customers will notice three new treats available for purchase this season, two of which are gluten-free.

The National Girl Scouts announced the debut of three new flavors on Monday for cookie sales that start later this month. The gluten-free options include Toffee-tastic, buttery cookies with toffee bits, and Trios, made with real peanut butter, chocolate chips and whole grain oats. The third cookie is called Rah-Rah Raisins, an oatmeal raisin cookie with "whole grain oats, plump, juicy raisins, and Greek yogurt-flavored chunks," according to the Girl Scouts website.

The new cookies will join the traditional favorites such as Thin Mints, Samoas and Tagalongs. Troops may not carry all 12 varieties and the Girl Scouts advise customers to check with their local councils to see which cookies will be available.

The gluten-free cookies are part of a "limited pilot," according to the website. Each of the commercial bakers for Girl Scout Cookies contributed a recipe for the cookies - ABC Bakers for the Trios and Little Brownie Bakers for the Toffee-tastic.

The Girl Scouts also will introduce a new online sales platform this season called "Digital Cookie." The system allows the girls to sell cookies to their friends and family (by invitation only) all over the country by filling out an order form on their personalized cookie-selling websites.

The 2015 Cookie Weekend, held between February 27 and March 1, will mark the 98th anniversary of Girl Scouts selling cookies. The annual sales teach the girls five essential skills, including goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.
