A Florida man died Christmas Eve after he fell 30 feet from a ropes course at a mall, Orlando police said.

Robert Belvoir, 52, was on the Sky Trial ropes course at the Artegon Marketplace on Wednesday evening when his harness somehow disconnected from the track and he fell onto the concrete floor, Orlando police Lieutenant Lovetta Quinn-Henry told the Orlando Sentinel.

Orlando Fire Rescue arrived at the mall and Belvoir was rushed to Dr. Phillips hospital, but he did not make it.

The incident happened in front of Belvoir's daughter, who was at the mall with him, the newspaper reported.

The Sky Trail offers a ropes course as well as zip lines and attractions for children, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The mall was previously named Festival Bay Mall until 2011 when it was bought by new developers due to an inability to fill all of the space. It was renamed Artegon Marketplace, and reopened a few weeks ago with artist and craft supply stores.

Officials closed the mall after Belvoir's fall, the Associated Press reported. FB Orlando Acquisition Company, the mall's owner, expressed their condolences for the victim's family on Facebook and said it is cooperating with Orlando police.

"He was enjoying the day with his daughter," Marty Jones, the stepfather of the victim's daughter, told the Orlando Sentinel after the tragedy. "He was a very good guy. He was very much loved."
