This Christmas is a milestone holiday for Carrie Underwood and her NHL star husband Mike Fisher: it is their last Christmas without a child. The country star reveals she and Fisher are already reevaluating their hectic work schedule to make their time with baby Fisher -- who will make his entrance into the world early next year -- a "priority." And she reveals part of that reassessment process includes creating new traditions for her family.

"We're going to have to make some family traditions," she said during a recent CMT interview. "My family never really stuck to the same things. We never really had the traditions that we always did."

"Right now, my schedule and my husband's hockey schedule kind of dictate our holidays," she added. "I told him recently, 'You know, I'm really tired of skipping holidays. So from this moment on, I think it's just so important no matter where we are or what we're doing, we have to make it special.'

"And, I think that's going to be our tradition, and I hope that my kids later in life are going to be like, 'Mom always tried to make that special even if we were crazy someplace or dad was off playing hockey or something like that. She made it special.'"

The "American Idol" winner-turned-superstar noted that she and Fisher, who plays for the Nashville Predators, are prepared to do what is necessary to balance their careers and their responsibilities as parents.

"That's something that has definitely been on both of our minds," she acknowledged. "We are just crazy. Our lives are weird, you know? They're awesome, and we're so blessed, but we're coming and going and all that stuff, so we're definitely going to have to reevaluate everything and just make time, make room and make that a priority."
