What do you do when someone gives your restaurant a one-star rating on Yelp? If you're Vikram Vij, you call out the guy! And if you're CBC Radio, you give him the forum to do so.

Raj Basdeo is the kind of Yelp reviewer that calls himself a "gastronomic populist with an elitist twist" and says things like "Faustian stroke of treachery" and "ghastly and flavorless concoction of oiliness." Basdeo, on his fourth and apparently, worst, visit to Vij's restaurant said he should have taken the money he spent on dinner and given it to digging wells in Darfur, according to Grub Street.

Vij said on-air that the words didn't hurt him, but they could hurt the staff he'd have to fire when customers stop coming to eat his Faustian feast.
