Mariah Carey loves the Christmas season, but she no longer wants to spend it with her estranged husband Nick Cannon.

Carey has arrived at her annual holiday retreat in Aspen, Colorado, where she will spend Christmas with her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, but disinvited their father, according to E! News.

"The original plan had been for the whole family to spend Christmas together in Colorado," a source told E! "However, Mariah has now asked Nick not to come."

The 44-year-old singer had several reasons for her change of heart. A few tough performances this year and a less than civil Thanksgiving with Cannon contributed to the decision.

"It's based on a few things," the source said. "For starters, they spent Thanksgiving together and fought behind the scenes. How is it healthy for the kids if both parents are technically in the same place but fighting?"

Carey even places some of the blame on Cannon for the criticism she received following her NBC's "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" performance and a few concerts on the Asian leg of her Elusive Chaunteuse World Tour.

"She holds him partially responsible for the bad press her recent performances have gotten," the source said. "She's been so stressed over the split-with the fighting and crying-it's definitely affected her state of mind, her head, her voice and her stage presence. It's rattled her."

Despite her objections, Cannon still plans on coming. If they do spend the holiday together, it will probably be their last. "It's getting too hard for [Carey]," the source said.
