As most Xbox/Microsoft fanboys know, the "Halo 5: Guardians" a closed multiplayer beta is taking place this weekend. The "Halo" franchise is looking to evolve multiplayer combat once again with this newest iteration of the storied franchise. In anticipation of the open beta launch for the game on December 29, 2014 a new trailer has been released focusing on what is new in the experience to keep Spartan fans excited. Take a gander below:

In "Halo 5: Guardians" there will be new abilities, modes, maps, and weapons all of which can be experienced in the 4 vs. 4 arena which will be the setting of the multiplayer beta. All those who own a copy of "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" are eligible for the open beta which will run a full three weeks until January 18, 2015 on the Xbox One. Thanks to IGN for the heads up.

Twitter has been abuzz (as are YouTube and the streaming sites) the past couple days with tweets from those lucky enough to be participating in the closed beta. Some of the more interesting comments so far have been:

"There is something in 'Halo 5' that is fun. But on the other side, there is a lot of frustrating things that make it not fun."

"Quitters in 'Halo 5' Beta in our last 6-7 games so far. And we're only a 2-stack. Really wish I had numbers on quitting 7-8 yrs ago vs now."

"Listening to the main theme of 'Halo 5'...on this cold and lonely night. What a great game."

"'Halo 5' sucks. What a massive disappointment."

"I look at 'Halo 5'... and it looks like 'CoD:AW' but with more health... It doesn't make me want to puke when I look at the gameplay though."

And that's what the internet is for: diverse and (somewhat) interesting opinions...whether you want them or not.

"Halo 5: Guardians" is scheduled to release Q3/Q4 2015.
