There isn't much for Chicago Bears fans to be happy about these days.

The team has lost six of its last eight games, supposed franchise quarterback Jay Cutler is performing extremely poorly and acting like a petulant child while doing so, and offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer is airing out the team's dirty laundry to the one place you never want to offer savory nuggets of inflammatory commentary - the media.

Now, you can add one more painful and frustrating item to the docket of Chicago Bear fandom this season, as it seems head coach Marc Trestman has only two games left in his position as the leader of this Bears team. (h/t to ProFootballTalk)

According to Dan Bernstein of WSCR in Chicago, Bears ownership met in the wake of Monday night's 31-15 home loss to the Saints and determined that they will "likely" part ways with Trestman at the conclusion of this season.

Trestman, a longtime NFL assistant who found great success during five seasons as the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, was hired by Chicago general manager Phil Emery prior to last season.

Trestman has amassed a 13-17 record since he took over. His laid-back, hands-off style has not played well with a team lacking in locker room leaders.

Emery's fate is apparently undecided, but the job of filling the eventual coaching vacancy left by Trestman's expected dismissal will be no small task, especially with Cutler - signed just last year to a new three-year, $54 million guaranteed contract - and the entire team having seriously regressed under the form CFL coach's watch.
