The high definition treatment arrived earlier this year with "Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster" on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita which held up very well as proven by the highly positive review scores across the board.

At the PlayStation Experience last weekend, Square Enix also announced that the wildly popular "Final Fantasy VII" is headed to PS4 next spring...but not as HD remaster or remake; it's just a port of the PC version that was released on Steam earlier this year.

Since the release of original "Final Fantasy" on the NES in 1987, this unique RPG series continues to show off the spectacular visuals, highly imaginative worlds, and rich stories. The titles in this series have so far achieved a cumulative shipment of over 110 million units worldwide.
