The gaming world is all about bundles lately...whether it's the "Humble Bundle" proper or one of it's many offshoots. No matter what's being bundled, the concept is the same: a package of downloadable e-goods are offered for a price chosen by the buyer, with certain incentives for spending more.

Maybe you don't just want to play the overload of fine games you've picked up from bundles over the years, though. Maybe now you want to read some fine words written about games. In that case, turn your attention to "StoryBundle."

"StoryBundle" is a service much like, but not actually affiliated with, the "Humble Bundle," and instead of games, they package e-books together. Right this moment, they having a bundle for sale that's all about video game e-books, which is a perfectly cool gift idea for the gamer in your life because one can only buy so many video games or peripherals, right?

I own this bundle myself and can say that the stand-out offerings here are: the late Ralph Baer's book on the early games industry, "Video Games: In the Beginning;" "Confessions of the Game Doctor" by the (also) late father of video games journalism, Bill Kunkel; both of Jordan Mechner's journals as he was in the throes of designing the early classics "Karateka" and "Prince of Persia;" and "Generation Xbox: How Video Games Invaded Hollywood" by Jamie Russell.

That's a good amount of fantastic reading material for whatever you want to pay, and as with all bundles, you get to decide how your money gets divvyed up...so get reading, gamers!
