The Obama administration's officials are allegedly known to routinely direct profanity-laced tirades at reporters, according to an experience narrated by former CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Monday.

Apart from discussing recent controversies such as the Rolling Stone article about the University of Virginia, Attkisson talked about former ABC News White House correspondent Ann Compton's recent revelation that President Obama went on a profane, off-the-record outburst, blaming the press for over exaggerating and blowing up scandals.

"That's not surprising to me. There have been profanity-laced discussions on their part with members of the Obama administration. They've talked to me about similar things, thinking that a cover story ... was not warranted or fair," the Emmy Award-winning journalist said Monday on Newsmax TV.

"Maybe this is just me or a personal opinion that a profanity-laced conversation with professionals in the press by the president of the U.S. is probably inappropriate," Attkisson continued.

Along with her, other reporters have been at the receiving end of some of Obama officials' scorn, according to The Daily Caller.

"They haven't just done this with me, but with reporters at The Associated Press and other colleagues. This is a tactic and a strategy."

However Attkisson, author of "Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama's Washington," said she isn't sure the outbursts are genuine.

"I don't know if it's heartfelt or sometimes it's just to create the kind of pushback that leads to a self-censorship, because you're so beaten down ... by what they say, by the social media campaigns and the blog campaigns that they launch."
