A 17-year-old playing Russian roulette died as his friends looked on after he shot himself in the head, Examiner.com reported on Monday.

The group of friends were playing video games when the victim, Leroy Young, loaded a single bullet into a gun and then spun the cylinder. He pointed the gun to his head and fired, killing himself in the process. One round went into Young's temple, according to police documents.

The one-man Russian roulette game that ended in tragedy happened Thursday night. After calling for emergency responders, the boy was unable to be revived and was declared dead at the scene.

The teen's death will be investigated by the county sheriff's office. Because Young was well known at his school, Kokomo High School, many grief counselors will be available to students throughout the week, the Inquisitr reported.

A similar incident happened over the summer in Florida. A 13-year-old boy was allegedly playing Russian roulette with a friend when another boy, 15, pulled the trigger of the gun. He was killed when he was hit in the chest with a bullet.
