Xbox gaming executive Phil Spencer doesn't seem too upset about Capcom's upcoming fighting game "Street Fighter V" being made exclusive to the PlayStation 4 console and PC.

Spencer responded to the announcement recently on Twitter, saying that Microsoft can't come out on top in every business deal, and that he is more interested in the company's own fighting game franchise "Killer Instinct," according to GameSpot.

"Business deals happen," he told a fan. "We won't do all of them. When we have a 1st party franchise in a genre I'd rather invest in ours."

Microsoft is no stranger to making exclusive deals, such as with "Dead Rising 3" and "Rise of the Tomb Raider." Spencer added that the company believes it is extremely important to own IP.

"There is a mix of deals to do," the executive said. "But making sure we own IP [that] Xbox gamers love is critical [in my opinion]."

Microsoft added the "Killer Instinct" series to its list of titles when it bought British game developer Rare in 2002, IGN reported.

Spencer said the year of 2015 will see "surprises, announces and great games" from Microsoft, and that the company will "deliver on all three."

Capcom officially announced the fifth installment of the "Street Fighter" series on Dec. 6, soon after a trailer for the game was released ahead of schedule, GameSpot reported. The official announcement was made at Sony's PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas, and it was also revealed that the game will support cross-platform play between PS4 and PC.

A release date for "Street Fighter V" has yet to be revealed.
