Free agent Ray Allen is playing the waiting game.  Although the Cleveland Cavaliers are still believed to be the frontrunners, Allen doesn't appear to be sold on any team just yet.

Allen remains the top free agent available on the market, and he's not short of suitors.  Still, the veteran seems intent to wait it out and see what the league looks like come February.

Per Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders:

"Just about every contender in the league has expressed interest in Allen, but his camp has made it clear that he's waiting until later in the season to make a decision. I think part of it is because he wants to spend time with his family (something I talked to him about during last year's Finals) and wants to save his body for the end of the season and a playoff run. However, I think a big part of it is wanting to ensure that he's joining a team with a legitimate chance to win a championship. Yes, right now there are a few teams that look like contenders, but it's still very early. What if Ray joins the Warriors today and then injuries or something else ruin the team's title hopes? By waiting, he can make sure he's landing in the perfect situation, which is important to him since this could be his final season and last shot at another championship. He's in no rush to make a decision, and I get why."

Kennedy also noted Allen's camp has been quick to dismiss almost every rumor, making it relatively quiet on the rumor front.

As for where Allen will end up, there's been a few teams routinely linked to him: the Los Angeles Clippers, the San Antonio Spurs and the Cavaliers.  ESPN's Ryen Russillo reported Allen wanted to wait until February to make a decision, but the Cavaliers were still his top choice.

"Hearing Ray Allen is telling teams 'talk to me in January," Russillo tweeted Friday, "(he) will make a decision in February.  Cavs still the favorite."
